Court of Appeal Holds Quarterly Luncheon, Emphasizes Teamwork and Unity

The Court of Appeal/Constitutional Court on Friday held its quarterly luncheon at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala, under the theme: "Shaping Tomorrow's Court". The gathering brought together Justices of the Court of Appeal, Registrars, Magistrates attached to the Justices, and support staff in a spirit of camaraderie and reflection.

The Deputy Chief Justice, Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, underscored the value of collegiality among members of the Court. He encouraged the Justices to go beyond their professional interactions by visiting one another's homes, noting that appreciating and understanding each other's spaces fosters stronger bonds and unity within the institution. He emphasized that teamwork grounded in personal connection strengthens the Court's collective mission.

Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, Justice of the Court of Appeal and Court Administrator, observed that the luncheon was not only a social occasion but also an opportunity to reflect on shaping the future of the Court. He noted that such gatherings help build cohesion and reinforce the teamwork necessary for sustaining efficiency and harmony in service delivery.

The luncheon was attended by Justices; Fredrick Egonda-Ntende, Hellen Obura, Irene Mulyagonja, Christopher Gashirabake, Eva Luswata, Oscar Kihika, Dr. Asa Mugenyi, Florence Nakachwa, Ketrah Kitariisibwa Katunguka, John Mike Musisi, Esta Nambayo, Cornelia Kakooza Sabiiti, and Musa Ssekaana. Also present were HW Rukundo Allen Owembabazi, Registrar of the Court of Appeal, and HW Mugala Jane, Deputy Registrar for Appellate Mediation, together with Magistrates attached to the Justices.

The event, which was steered by HW Dr. Alex Karocho Mushabe, Private Legal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Justice, concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony that symbolized the unity and shared vision of the Court.
